What made the crucifixion of Jesus such a big deal that it’s still radically changing lives today?
He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by His wounds you have been healed. 25 For you were like sheep going astray, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls. ~ I Peter 2:24-25
Why can’t God just FORGIVE???
God is Holy. God is Just.
2 aspects of my relationship with God:
- Jesus came to be my forgiver.
- Jesus came to be my leader.
The substitutionary atonement is not only the source of my forgiveness; it’s also the source of my transformation.
